Movable chair, 1968

The drawing of the movable chair (’65 - 68) shows how by placing the swivel seat mechanism off centre to the circular seat pad the seat can be swivelled by the sitter to be either close up to the back or further away. This means if the sitter wants to sit upright and have extra support to the lumber region of the spine most of the weight of the body is taken by the seat.

When lounging the spine is naturally flattened and the main weight of the body is then taken again by the seat which when swivelled forward is now at a greater distance from the back as illustrated in the drawing.
